About

Third Space is a startup non-profit ministry under the leadership of Rev. Milton Eng to provide resources and spaces to help Asian Americans grow in their ethnic and spiritual journeys. These include seminars, internships, research/publications and other innovative and creative programs to inform Asian Americans and the wider community of their history, culture and contributions and to support the Asian American Christian community and their local churches in the challenges they face as ethnic minorities in the religious landscape of America.

Asian American Leadership Center

Third Space is a ministry under the Asian American Leadership Center which is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing assistance and a platform to help other ministries get started. AALC has helped launch 4 new churches, 11 new innovative ministries and host 8 national leadership conferences.

ISAAC East?

After serving as East Coast Project Director for ISAAC (Innovative Space for Asian American Christianity) for the past eight years, Milton has decided to launch out on his own. He has always wanted to start his own non-profit. Now with Third Space, Milton will have more flexibility, independence and the ability to concentrate more fully on the local New York and New Jersey area where he is based.

Milton (伍敬華 牧師) is an independent Hebrew Bible scholar and ordained minister. He is also an author and published his first book with Zondervan in 2015 with Lee Fields, Devotions on the Hebrew Bible. He has taught as an adjunct professor at The King's College, Pillar College, Rutgers, Fordham and St. Peter's. He is currently teaching World History at William Paterson in Wayne, NJ.

Milton was born and raised in New York City and has been living in northern NJ for over twenty years. After graduating from Columbia University with an engineering degree he felt called to full-time Christian service and started attending seminary.  He graduated from Evangelical Seminary in Pennsylvania and studied for a year at Westminster.  Always seeking more knowledge in the Word, he eventually attended Drew University where he earned his Ph.D. in Old Testament/Hebrew Bible.  Rev. Milton has been an English pastor before but his main focus in recent years has been in teaching. In Fall of 2012, he took over Rev. Andrew Lee’s position as East Coast Project Director for ISAAC, Innovative Space for Asian American Christianity until recently in 2020.
